Can I be a police officer with tattoos?
If you are thinking about applying for the National Police Corps (CNP), you probably already know that there are certain requirements you must meet in order to be eligible to pass the exam.
Regarding tattoos, you should know that there are requirements that must be respected if you don't want to encounter surprises during your attempt to enter the body, although they are increasingly accepted and normalized, we detail them below so that you keep them in mind and know at all times what they are:
- The first thing you should know is that tattoos by themselves do not constitute a reason for exclusion, as stated in Organic Law 2/1986.
- You should keep in mind that you will be asked about your tattoos in the interview that will take place during the opposition; your answers will determine whether you are deemed fit or not.
- The type of tattoo you have will also be a determining factor; keep in mind that having flowers tattooed is not the same as having a symbol of a certain ideology.
- You are likely to have more access opportunities if they are not visible with the summer uniform (which is the short-sleeved one), although that does not mean you will be excluded if they are visible.
As you can see, tattoos are not a reason for exclusion when applying to the National Police Corps (although they are for other state security forces and bodies), but the meaning you give them and the answers you provide when asked about them can tip the scales in your favor or, on the contrary, disqualify you from the application process.
We wish you good luck and encouragement!
